Association WOWFrance ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application WOWFrance (com.wowfrance.myapp) and website wowfrance.online handle your information when you use our Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (360° VR) cultural heritage guide.

2. Data We Access and Permissions Required

To provide an immersive cultural guide experience, WOWFrance requests the following device permissions:

  • Location Data (Precise and Approximate Location): Used while the app is in use to locate nearby 360° VR heritage portals, provide location-aware historical commentary, and display walking directions. Location data is processed in real time and is never sold or used for advertising.

  • Microphone and Voice Data (Audio): When you use the voice question feature to speak with the virtual guide, your audio input is securely transmitted to our backend solely to transcribe your question and generate the guide's spoken response. We do not record audio in the background without your explicit interaction.

  • Camera: Required for the Augmented Reality mode (AR LIVE) to display historical overlays over your real-world view, and when you explicitly choose to capture a photo within the app. The live AR camera stream is rendered locally on your device.

  • Technical & Diagnostic Data: Basic anonymous technical logs (device type, OS version, crash reports) used solely to maintain app stability.

3. How We Use Information

We process this information strictly to:

  1. Deliver 360° panoramic views and historical audio guides relevant to your location or query.

  2. Process voice and text questions addressed to the AI cultural guide.

  3. Maintain and improve application security and performance.

No Ads & No Data Selling: WOWFrance contains no third-party advertisements and never sells or shares user data for marketing or tracking purposes.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers to operate the app:

  • Supabase: Cloud database and backend functions hosting our 360° media catalog.

  • Google Maps Platform / Street View: Provides map navigation, geocoding, and interactive Street View fallback panoramas (governed by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy).

  • AI Processing Services (Speech-to-Text, LLM & ElevenLabs Text-to-Speech): Processes user questions in real time to return historical explanations and synthesized voice audio.

5. Data Security, Retention & Deletion

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Voice and location queries are processed ephemerally to fulfill your request. You may revoke Location, Microphone, or Camera permissions at any time through your device settings, or request the deletion of any associated data by contacting us.

6. Children's Privacy

WOWFrance is an educational and cultural heritage application. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
